About Chongqing University

Founded in 1929, Chongqing University has grown from its vision of becoming a “well-equipped and influential university” into one of China’s top-tier institutions. Designated as a national key university in 1960, CQU has earned prestigious titles, including inclusion in the state’s “Project 211” (1998), “Project 985” (2001), and the “Double First-Class University” initiative (2022). Today, CQU is recognized as a Class-A University under China’s National World-First-Rate University Construction Program. CQU spans five campuses:
